So, what´s this city everyone is talking about?

Madrid is the capital of Spain and one of the fifty provinces of the country. It lies 667 meters above sea level and its weather is hot and dry in the summer and cold in the winter.


It is the highest capital city in the European Union and has more than three million inhabitants.
The city is home to the royal family, government, parliament and the supreme Court but is also a huge cultural enterprise as it houses hundreds of museums, theaters and cinemas.

How to get to from the airport to the city center?

A direct taxi from the airport to the city center or vice versa costs about 30 euros up to 4 passengers with luggage (fixed and supervised fare). You can lower the price by traveling with UBER.
Please note that taxi drivers in Madrid also receive payment by credit or debit card.

Metro operating hours: 6:00-01:30
In order to use the main metro network, you have to buy a multi-use 4€ ticket on your first trip (in the vending machines located at the station entrance).


The charge for a single trip costs about 2 euros and 10 trips cost 12.20 euros (different people can use one card).


- The price of a ticket for traveling from the airport to the city center is 5€. You have to take 2 different metro lines to reach Gran Via Street and get off at Plaza De Espana station.


- It is recommended to download the Metro Madrid app to plan routes and navigate easily.

Where to Buy a Local SIM card?

Spain's leading telephone network VODAFONE sells a temporary SIM card for travelers with messaging and internet packages between 2-20 gigabytes at prices ranging from 5-20 euros.

Where should I purchase football game tickets?
